"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31

the early bird gets the worm... but the second mouse gets the cheese...

5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

      “ God resists the proud,
      But gives grace to the humble.”[b]

 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because[c] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may[d] the God of all grace, who called us[e] to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

(1 Peter 5:5-11)

i must humble myself. i must cast all my cares on my Lord Jesus. in these stressful times of exams. i must not worry or be anxious. to worry over such things would mean that i am relying on my own strength and not trusting in God. to worry or be anxious is to be proud and sinful. Christ has already won the greatest battle on my behalf, my troubles and burdens are nothing for Him. trust Him and lean on Him as my support.
surrender everything i have to God. even these exams. let God be in control. His plan is perfect. "who of you, by worrying, can add a single day to his life?"
be humble. rely on God and do not fear.
"humble yourselves...casting all your care upon Him."

and... Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall
I once was fatherless,
a stranger with no hope;
Your kindness wakened me,
Awakened me, from my sleep

Your love it beckons deeply,
a call to come and die.
By grace now I will come
And take this life, take your life.

Sin has lost it's power,
death has lost it's sting.
From the grave you've risen
VICTORIOUSLY!

Chorus
Into marvelous light I'm running,
Out of darkness, out of shame.
By the cross you are the truth,
You are the life, you are the way

My dead heart now is beating,
My deepest stains now clean.
Your breath fills up my lungs.
Now I'm free. now I'm free!

Lift my hands and spin around,
See the light that I have found.
Oh the marvelous light
Marvelous light

Lift my hands and spin
See the light within...

conclusion...
  • never chance an alternative where the outcome is worse than you can possibly bear
  • have humility in the face of both success and failure, because it can all change at any time
  • use the ability to imagine alternative outcomes

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

I Need Jesus

" And my God shall supply all your needs. " (Phil. 4:19)
George O. Webster - Charles H. Gabriel
1I need Jesus, my need I now confess;
No friend like Him in times of deep distress;
I need Jesus, the need I gladly own;
Tho' some may bear their load alone,
Yet I need Jesus,
2I need Jesus, I need a friend like Him,
A friend to guide when paths of life are dim;
I need Jesus, when foes my soul assail;
Alone I know I can but fail,
So I need Jesus,
3I need Jesus, I need Him to the end;
No one like Him, He is the sinner's Friend;
I need Jesus, no other friend will do;
So constant, kind, so strong and true,
Yes, I need Jesus,
*
I need Jesus, I need Jesus, I need Jesus ev'ry day;
Need Him in the sunshine hour,
Need Him when the storm clouds low'r;
Ev'ry day along my way, Yes, I need Jesus.

我需要耶穌

腓4:19
George O. Webster - Charles H. Gabriel
